How to Access Python Code in AI Tools: A Tip from Dr. Susan Olsen

In a highly practical moment during the May 15 Women in Ag Tech webinar, Dr. Susan Olsen, Founder of Action Intel, walked through how users can extract, and reuse Python code generated by AI tools like ChatGPT.

When AI provides data analysis or visualizations, it often writes Python code behind the scenes. Dr. Olsen explained that after AI performs a task,

users can click on a small “view analysis” or cursor icon—typically near the response—to reveal the Python code used to generate the output.

That consolidated code can then be copied and run independently, giving users greater transparency, flexibility, and control over the outputs, ideal for those wanting to customize or expand on AI-generated analytics.

“You can tell it, ‘Hey, compile all the Python code you’ve put into one piece,’ and it will generate a clean version you can drop into your own workflow.”

This feature makes generative AI tools especially valuable for technical users, blending speed with hands-on control.
